Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer eye exams?

We do not offer eye exams at this time.

How do I get my Prescription?

After your eye exam, your Optometrist’s office will provide you with a copy of your prescription. If you do not receive a copy of your prescription, you can call or visit your Optometrist’s office in person to obtain one.

How are your glasses so affordable?

As any small local brand, we are able to be more involved in the process of the production of your orders, hence being able to provide you with a more affordable option of eyewear. From locally sourced lenses and frames to putting together your order in-house, we can provide not only affordability but quality.

Do you offer Progressive or Bi-Focal Lenses?

We do! Although, due to specific measurements that need to be taken by a licensed professional theses types of lenses are NOT available online. These types of lenses are exclusively available through in-house orders.

Do you offer Readers?

You bet! Simply enter your prescription as normal when placing an order and make sure to click the box indicating you would like them to be made into readers.

What's the difference between a Distance and Reading Prescription?

Great question! A distance Prescription is just for that: Distance! This prescription will improve your vision while driving, reading street signs, or even watching that favourite Netflix show on TV.

A Reading Prescription is basically for fine close up vision specifically. You’ll need it for reading that page-turner of a book, and that really small fine print on vitamin bottles. Remember: These are for close-up work only! Anything past 4-6 feet will be very blurry.

How will I know if my frames will fit?

We have broken everything down into three main size widths to help you out if you are unsure. Sizes can be found in the description of each frame. You can also try on any frame with our Virtual-Try On tool if you are still unsure.

What kind of lenses and coatings do you offer?

We work with Essilor Canada to bring you the best quality of lenses we can ensuring sharp clear vision. ALL of our lenses come with the standard coatings such as: Anti-Glare, Anti-Scratch, Anti-smudge and UV Filtering. You can add on a Blue Light Coating if you would like as well.

I need an adjustment or repair, what can I do?

Adjustment and repairs are a service we offer to our customers in-store at our Regina location. We offer these services by appointment only.

If you are from out of town or unable to visit us in-store we recommend going to your nearest optical store or your local optometrist. Be aware it is at your own risk and Jimmy Mac Eyewear is not responsible for damages caused by repairs or adjustments not performed by us.

Please note: Fees may be applicable for repairs or adjustments.

I placed my order, now what?

You should receive an email confirming all your order details as soon as the order is placed. You will receive another email 7-14 business days later regarding your tracking information. If you chose in-store pick up, we will contact you within 7-14 business days to set up a pick up appointment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and if applicable, Apple Pay! Interact is also available for in-store purchases. We do not accept American Express at this time.

Do you offer Direct Billing? How do I submit to my insurance?

We do not offer direct billing at this time.

We provide you with all the receipts necessary to submit to any insurance you may have. You will receive a paper copy with your order. If you require a digital copy or lose your receipt you can contact us, and we will provide one for you.
